All GVU Academic Programmes get Full Accreditation
In the accreditation exercise that took place between June 20 – 24, 2016, organised by the National Universities Commission (NUC) for Glorious Vision University, Ogwa, Edo State, all 10 Academic Programmes presented for the exercise were granted full accreditation status.

In a letter written to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Benard Eronmonsele Aigbokhan by the Deputy Executive Secretary 1, Prof. C.F. Mafiana, on behalf of the Executive Secretary of National Universities Commission (NUC), Prof. J. Okojie, congratulated the Vice-Chancellor for the success of their full Accreditation Status reports.

During the visit, all members of the accreditation panel commended the Management of Glorious Vision University for the facility they put in place for teaching and non-teaching activities. In separate remarks, some members of the team applauded the proprietor of GVU for up till date facilities made available on the University campus. They said based on their experiences, GVU is on the path of being a world-class university. A university of 5 years old with these facilities, indeed GVU is a world-class university, one of them remarked.

GVU gets Professional Courses Affiliation
Being one of the statutory obligations of Glorious Vision University, Ogwa, Edo State, its student, that students will graduate with at least three certificates (Chosen Course, Professional Certificate and Entrepreneur Certificate), the Management of GVU has successfully registered all academic programmes with their various professional bodies.
The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), made an official visit to the Department of Banking & Finance of Glorious Vision University recently to rationalize the Department of B.Sc. Banking and Finance programme and also to observe the quality of tuition delivery.

Following the satisfactory rationalization of the course contents of both institutions, the CIBN signed the Memorandum of Understanding with GVU. With this development, graduates of Banking & Finance from GVU will write a few courses of CIBN to qualify as Chartered Bankers (ACIB).

In a similar development, the Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria (ICAN), recently paid an accreditation visit to GVU, to observe the standard of academic curriculum, teaching aids, quality of tuition delivery in order to certify the University for its Professional Examination.

Having met the accreditable requirements of the body, the Institute, in its press release published on Tuesday, 12th April, 2016, the Registrar/Chief Executive, Mr Rotimi A. Omotoso, MBA, FCA of the institution congratulated the University’s Vice-Chancellor for the accreditation of GVU as one of its accredited tertiary institutions.

Also, with this development, students of Accounting from Department of Accounting & Finance of Glorious Vision University will only need to write few courses of ICAN that will qualify them as Chartered Accountants.

2015/2016 Academic Session Ends in a glorious way
While delivering a lecture titled “a glorious end” at the end of the year ceremony for Staff of GVU which took place on Thursday, July 28, 2016, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ben Aigbokhan announced the Academic Excellence performance of our students. He said that all 102 students that sat for 2016 Internationally Licensed ICT & E-Business Certified Professional Examination through New Horizons International performed excellently. These students registered and sat for this professional Examination in relation to their courses, they have a professional certificate in the following courses:

  • E-council Customer Relation Management
  • Web Communication
  • Secure Users Specialist
  • Microsoft Office Suites Specialist

Joint Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) in July, 2016, approved affiliation status to GVU to participate as a centre for preparing students for 200 level admission into Nigeria universities. Courses commence on September 19, 2016.
