The Vice-Chancellor, Glorious Vision University, Ogwa, Professor A. Babatunde Idowu, has reiterated the importance of hard work, dedication to work and the need for students to be obedient to the rules of engagement. He made this assertion at the institution’s 12th Matriculation Ceremony on Thursday, 10th March, 2022.
In his opening address at the ceremony, Professor Idowu thanked God for making the day a reality and for the lives of the students whom he described as marking a major milestone in their lives and reinforces his commitment to upholding, protecting, and ensuring their peaceful stay in the University. ‘’ we will endeavour to provide you excellent and equal opportunities to learn in an atmosphere of mutual respect, justice and equity service delivery…..we are determined to make your learning rewarding and satisfactory’’ he affirmed.
The Vice-Chancellor reminded the freshers that there were no short cuts to success. Taking references from the scripture, (Ps 34: 4&10) he admonished the students to rely on the help of the Lord to achieve success.
Professor Idowu reaffirmed that the students were in the right place for the their educational pursuit, stressing that with a strategic plan that offers the best in cutting edge research and service delivery in science, the best global practices of quality leadership and Management, the University is set to compete globally.
Part of the highlights of the ceremony was the signing of the Matriculation Register by the matriculating students administered by the Registrar, Oluyemi Esan.
Fielding questions from pressmen, the Vice Chancellor reaffirmed his determination to providing a stress-free environment for study but strongly warned the students to uphold the high standard of the institution and desist from anti- social deviant behavours. He reinforces the institution’s zero tolerance to drug addiction and examination malpractices.
